Objective: First Certificate (FCE)

Anywhere, anytime: a FCE companion

Worst thing: silence

with one comment

This is a very important tip on the speaking part:

The worst thing in the exam is silence. If you really have no opinion, then say it: ‘I really have no opinion on this matter’.

And if you are really stuck and need some time to pull yourself together, you could start off by asking your partner: “What do you think?”…s/he may hate you for doing this, but it’s all about survival, isn’t it?

  1. I agree with you. I’ve already been to the FCE Exam and silence is the worst thing you can do.

I must say I don’t agree with your last tip, because, even if it’s all about survival, by giving the chance for the other candidate to speak is bad because he can start to talk and we are never able to stop until the time’s over.

    That’s just my opinion ^^
